Modernizing a Landmark Estate
The Lake Forest Historical Landmark Estate is a magnificent 11,000-square-foot residence nestled within five acres of lush gardens and trees. Over a century old, this architectural treasure was originally designed by the renowned architect Arthur Heun, whose legacy of craftsmanship and timeless design continues to define the home’s character today.
When Premiere Systems collaborated with Victoria Hagan Interior Design and builders Bulley & Andrews, the goal was clear: to seamlessly modernize the estate’s outdated technology using cutting-edge solutions that enhance simplicity, beauty, and performance. All while still preserving the integrity of its historic architecture.
Executing this vision required close collaboration among multiple trades. Including millworkers, painters, and designers to ensure that every detail aligned. Understanding where artwork, furnishings, and finishes would live was crucial to bringing the client’s audio experience to life.
INVISIBLE APPLICATION
At the heart of the renovation was the seamless integration of Sonance Invisible Speakers, expertly applied across multiple spaces throughout the first floor. In the formal family room, a 3.2 configuration was installed behind designer-selected wall coverings to deliver balanced, detailed sound and improved vocal clarity, resolving a long standing acoustical challenge within the space.
Flawless Integration in the Formal Living Room
The most remarkable achievement of this project lies within the formal living room. A grand space adorned with original millwork and a decorative ceiling that could not be altered. The team meticulously sized and positioned the Invisible Speakers within the recesses of the existing wainscoting and coordinated with painters to perfectly match the finish to the surrounding woodwork. The result is flawless integration that preserves the authenticity of the design while delivering uncompromising sound quality.

Throughout the project, Premiere Systems approached every technological decision with respect for the home’s architecture. Each solution was chosen to enhance the living experience without altering the estate’s timeless aesthetic. The Sonance Invisible Series proved essential in achieving that vision.
